Rider Release & Waiver

C-Cab is the scheduling tool your church uses to arrange free rides. It is not a taxi or rideshare company, and no money changes hands. Your driver is an unpaid volunteer from a participating church — vetted and approved by your church, not by C-Cab.

Riding in any vehicle carries ordinary risks of road travel. You choose to accept rides voluntarily, and you'll wear your seatbelt on every ride.

Your name, pickup address, phone number, and any mobility notes you add are shared with your coordinator and with the volunteer driving you, so they can get you there safely.

You'll treat volunteers with respect, be ready near your pickup time when you can, and cancel in the app (or call your coordinator) if you can't go — no trouble at all, but please tell us.

If you book a ride for someone else, you confirm you have their permission, that the information you give about them is accurate, and that you'll share these terms with them.

To the extent Alberta law allows, you release C-Cab, the participating churches, and their volunteer drivers from claims arising out of ordinary negligence connected with volunteer rides.

This release does NOT cover gross negligence or wilful misconduct, and it does not take away rights the law says cannot be waived — including benefits under the driver's auto insurance and statutory accident benefits. Auto insurance law still applies to every ride, exactly as it does to any car trip.

You can stop using C-Cab whenever you like. Your church can pause accounts to keep the ministry safe. Checking the agreement box at signup is your electronic signature, valid under Alberta's Electronic Transactions Act. This waiver is governed by the laws of Alberta.
