Terms of Use

C-Cab is a coordination tool. It lets a participating church run a team of volunteer drivers and lets members of that church request a ride to Sunday service.

C-Cab does not provide transportation. It is not a carrier, taxi or ride-hailing company; it does not employ or contract drivers, own vehicles, or insure anyone. Each church vets and approves its own volunteers; each volunteer drives their own vehicle under their own licence and insurance.

C-Cab is not for medical transport or emergencies. In an emergency, call 911.

You must be at least 18. Give accurate information, keep your password private, and tell us if you think someone else has used your account. One account per person.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts anyone at risk, or is used to harass, deceive or scrape.

Rides are free. You will never be charged by C-Cab, a church or a volunteer, and nobody may ask you to pay.

A request is not a promise. A ride is confirmed only when a volunteer accepts it, and a volunteer may need to hand a ride back; your coordinator is told whenever that happens.

Be ready at your pickup, treat volunteers with respect, cancel as early as you can if plans change, and bring any car seat or mobility equipment you need. Rides are given by volunteers in personal vehicles; the Rider Release & Waiver you sign at signup sets out that arrangement.

You are a volunteer for your church, not a worker for C-Cab. You confirm that you hold a valid licence, that your own auto insurance covers carrying passengers without payment, and that you will follow the rules of the road and your church's conduct expectations.

Accept only rides you can honour. If you must step back, hand the ride back in the app as early as possible so the team is told. The Volunteer Driver Agreement & Release governs the details.

A church joins C-Cab by registering, signing the Participating Church Agreement, and being approved by C-Cab.

Membership costs $20 CAD a month per church, billed monthly in advance to the card on file through Stripe and renewing automatically until cancelled. We have committed publicly that this price will not rise; it covers the service's running costs and development. Any applicable taxes are shown at checkout.

The church — not C-Cab — decides who drives and rides in its program and is responsible for its own insurance and volunteer screening.

A church can cancel at any time from Manage billing on the coordinator board. It takes no more steps than signing up. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the month already paid for, and no further charges are made.

Refund terms are in our Refund Policy: the first month is refundable in full within 30 days on request; later months are not refundable except where we end a membership or the law requires. Riders and drivers pay nothing, so there is nothing to refund.

Do not use C-Cab to harass, discriminate, deceive, solicit, or transport anything illegal. Do not share another person's information beyond what a ride needs. Do not probe, scrape or overload the service. Do not create accounts for people without their permission — booking a ride for a family member from your own account is fine.

Ratings and comments must be honest and about the ride. We may remove content that is abusive, false or off-topic. You give us the right to use what you post inside C-Cab to run the service.

C-Cab is provided as is and as available. We work to keep it accurate and running, but we do not guarantee that a ride will be available, that a volunteer will arrive on time, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. We are not responsible for the conduct of riders, volunteers or churches.

Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under Alberta consumer-protection law that cannot be waived.

To the fullest extent Alberta law allows, AiM (Artificial Intelligence Media)'s total liability to you for anything connected with C-Cab is limited to the fees you paid us in the twelve months before the claim; for riders and drivers, who pay nothing, we are not liable for indirect, incidental or consequential loss.

This does not exclude liability for fraud, for death or personal injury caused by our own negligence, or for anything else the law does not allow us to exclude.

You can delete your account at any time from Account & privacy. We can end or suspend access for breach of these terms, on notice where practical. Sections that by their nature should survive — disclaimers, limitation of liability, records — survive.

These terms are governed by the laws of Alberta and of Canada as they apply there, and disputes go to the courts of Alberta. Ticking a box or typing your name is a valid electronic signature under Alberta's Electronic Transactions Act.

If we change these terms materially we will post the new date here and tell church coordinators; continuing to use C-Cab after that is acceptance. Contact: luke@aimediacorp.net.
